Hi there! Excuse me for praising about discontinued products again!
Heroine Make is made by Isehan, and these mascaras have been repackaged/renamed last year, into prettier bright pink tubes (pictured here). Good news is, I still have back-ups of these, and I figure, it will be a loss (to the blog community? lol) if I don't write about them. So here we are, talking about these no-long-available well-loved Japanese mascaras!
Price and Packaging
Each costs about HK$ 60 (7-8US). Comes in a burgundy plastic tube, sleek and handy. The wand for Volume and Curl is thinner in the centre, like a bone shape. Long and Curl has a more traditional type of wand, but curved slightly.
Before and After
In the picture above:
Lashes on both sides are curled. Only the left hand side has been coated with 1 layer of Long and Curl.
In the picture below:
Left eye is still the same - only 1 coat of Long and Curl; while the right eye has 1 coat of Long and Curl and 1 coat of Volume and Curl on.
Review
The photos speak all, basically these give me lashes. I do not have to layer one over the other to achieve the effects I desire. However, this way it seems to deliver the fullest, craziest lashes - which I adore.
The formula lasts all day. No smudge, no flakes, no falling straight no matter how long your day is. However, industrial grade water-proof eye make-up removers are required to take these off. Normal cleansing oil, wipes or micellar water - Bioderma, e.g. - won't take these black coatings off.
Used individually, both holds my curl amazingly. Long and Curl is the one I prefer because it adds more length. It has micro/mini fibres in. Volume and Curl I feel clumps up more easily, but is more thickening and darkening. When I have the mood, of course, I tend to layer them one over the other. Sometimes this over that, sometimes vice versa; both ways my lashes look amazing.
Rating: HURRAY. Holy Grail status. I sincerely hope the newer generation with pink tubes will work for my lashes. Otherwise my lashes will be very sad for a very long time...
What are your favourite mascara(s)? Do you layer them one over another?
