100 Day Spending Ban | Week 7 Update

Another week has gone, did I break any rules?  What have I learnt?

1.  A Recap

My rules:
  • No spending on ANY make up or skin care.  No exceptions.  I do welcome free gifts or samples though.  Note: during this span I shall have at least 3 Glamaboxes coming in, so that can keep me entertained!
  • Every single day I survive this ban, I will put HK $100 into my Fun Fund.  When the ban is over, I can treat myself well (perhaps some Burberry or Guerlain make up??).  :D
  • My 100 Day Spending Ban starts on 1st of April and shall end on 9th of July.

2.  Fun Fund (Week 7: 13 - 19 May)

$3,900 + $700 - $200
= $4,400

i) 13th May:

To tackle Monday blues, I went ahead and did some damage at Sasa buying Dolly Wink.  Pencil Eyecolor (85 HKD) for highlighting tear-duct area.  This helps achieve the innocent bright eye look.  Also picked up two Eyebrow Pencils - 3 Dark Chocolat, 2 Chocolate Brown (65 HKD each) because I wanted the liquid eye liner gift.  I must have gone out of control quite a bit...

When I got home, I saw on Glamabox's facebook page their special Whoo box.  The History of Whoo 后 literally means the beauty secrets of queen.  It has been on my radar for a while but nothing came as close as this box in terms of price and convenience to obtain.  So I picked up one for myself and one for my cousin.  138 HKD is a great value for getting a taste of Korean royal luxury~

ii) Prof. TK:

Mother's Day was a sales peak among Taiwan online and offline shops.  Everyone of them is doing discounts or value sets or cash-back.  After some elimination - Dr. Hsieh and Dr. Douxi (sorry, next time) - I have craved in and made an order off Prof. TK dot com.  Taiwan media (or bloggers) hold Prof TK in some of the highest regards available.  Their Bio-Cellulose Masks and Three-Toner Method has been talked about a lot.

Mandelic Acid is a really intriguing ingredient to exfoliate and gently renew the skin.  Cousin H raves about the Dr. Hsieh's 10% MA, which I will some day get a bottle of, so often, that I cannot take my eyes off the Mandelic Acid promotion of Prof TK.  I picked up one of each from that line, along with some masks.

I am stupidly/evilly not going to count this as violation - don't judge me.  Plus, I think I hauled in at least two blog sales - one of make up, one of dress and shoes...

iii) June trip to Taiwan:

Mr A and I will be visiting Taiwan in early June, three days in Taichung following by four in Taipei.  It's been less than a year since our last visit so I am hopeful that I can restrain myself from over-hauling.  Books and skin care bits seem unavoidable.  My wish is no new make up come home with me - possible?

iv) 15th May:

Speaking of Sasa.  I shouldn't even allow myself to set foot in one.  With a 50 HKD cash coupon in hand and a voucher to redeem free gifts, I did more damage to my wallet...

Flower Embossed Cotton Pad 80 piece (Sasa link) $15 HKD for 2 packs
Green Acne Medicated Skin Mist $98 HKD for 250 g
Naris Up ACMedica Medicated Acne Care Mist (Japanese link) $48 HKD for 150 ml
Naris Up ModeReal 3 Way Powder - 01 Natural Brown (Japanese link) $89 HKD
Naris Up ModeReal 3 Way Powder - 02 Dark Brown (Japanese link) $89 HKD

v) Freebies:

Neogence, Dr. Jart+, Beyond, blotting sheets, Methode Swiss - from Sasa.
Clinique CC Cream - from Clinique counter.

3. Lesson Learnt

歷史是沒有任何教育意義的。」--{黃子華 @嘩眾取寵}

From my beloved stand-up comedian Dayo Wong, "History serves no educational value."

4. Wants or Wishes

I will write these down weekly, and after the 100 day spending ban I will look back and see what I really will buy.  I suppose this is a good way to see how unnecessary some of my desires are...!  I am limiting myself to add one wish per day only, is that considered self-control, too?

- Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation (video review by lisasz09)

- Fresh Peony Whitening Night Treatment Mask (blog review by Jess/hakme.  I am also eye-ing at the Fresh rose line, will be added to wish list one by one later!)
- Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
- Pai Camelia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser (one of ttsandra's favourite)
- Innisfree Jeju Fermented Leaven Mask

- Innnisfree Soybean Energy Essence

- Innisfree Red Ginseng Mask

By the way, I tried to put in equal number of high-end and low-end items onto my wish list, to keep things 'in balance'.  After 7 weeks of editing down, I realise I have eliminated quite a few of the low-end wishes.  Perhaps this is my evolution?

Other updates:
