Some Korean brands are always top on my virtual wish list to acquire and try. Besides Sulwhasoo, Hera and Amore Pacific (all owned by same company Amore Pacific), The History of Whoo is one of them. Whoo means Queen, and it is a form of the Chinese letter 后 (which also means queen for my non-Chinese readers). As someone who doesn't spend time watching Korean TV and chasing after Korean celebrity, I still recognise Whoo as the brand of Lee Young-ae 李英愛.
Whoo vs Sulwhasoo
Some articles call Whoo the LG company's answer to the very successful Sulwhasoo brand. This I cannot argue, but my first impression with these products is very positive. They are packaged in an extraordinarily neat manner and the scent and texture feel lovely. Both brands claim to have complex (ancient?) formulae of rare Chinese herbs and medicine that work miracles for the skin. Sulwhasoo reminds me of straight-up ginseng, while Whoo is a bit obscure to me. Research has to be done on their ingredients and pricing but I'm pretty confident that Whoo is some promising competitor of Sulwhasoo. ;)
Whoo x crossover x Glamabox
This box set is a collaboration of Glamabox and Whoo. I believe Whoo is not officially represented in HK yet, hence the description of this set comes in simplified Chinese (from the Shanghai distributor).
For Glamabox subscribers like me, this box costs 138HKD only. Even if you're not subscribed, you can get it for 208HKD, which is a great deal when any beauty store outside can charge you 50-60HKD for one little sample pot.
Now that I'm typing out the how much the individual item in this sampler kit, I totally want to go back to the site and order more sets... (I most probably would!) Let's see how they perform, I'll be starting with the whitening line~
